An antiparasitic remedy indicated for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites of cattle and sheep and with residual activity against certain important roundworms of cattle and sheep as well as blue ticks in cattle.
CAUTION
STORAGE:
PRIVEXIA® is stable for two years if stored under normal conditions.
The product can be used for one month after first broaching the container.
Store in a cool, dry place below 25 ˚C and protect from light.
COMPOSITION:
Each 100 mℓ contains
Moxidectin 1,0 g
Benzyl alcohol 2,0 g as the preservative
WARNINGS:
Withdrawal time for meat and offal: 42 days.
Not to be used in animals producing milk for human consumption.
May be toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with product or used containers.
Transitory discomfort may be observed in some animals following subcutaneous injection. These reactions will disappear without treatment.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.
Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
PRECAUTIONS:
Special precautions for use in the target species:
USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.
DO NOT ADMINISTER INTRAVENOUSLY OR INTRAMUSCULARLY.
Use sterile equipment and follow aseptic procedures.
Cattle should be vaccinated against Black Quarter and sheep against Black Quarter and Pulpy Kidney Disease before treatment with PRIVEXIA®.
Do not inject more than 15 mℓ per injection site.
Dispose of any drug containers and residual contents safely, ie by burning or burying.
Special precautions for the person administering the vaccine:
Do not mix with any other stock remedies or veterinary medicines before administration.
Do not re-use empty bottles.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product.
Wash hands thoroughly after use.
Take care to avoid self-injection. If this occurs, it is unlikely that any symptoms will be observed but consult your doctor.
Advice to Medical Practitioners: treat any specific signs of self-injection symptomatically.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed.
Special instructions for route of administration:
PRIVEXIA® may be administered with any standard automatic or single dose equipment.
For subcutaneous injection administration only.
Cattle:
Inject under loose skin in front of or behind the shoulder.
Use a 18 gauge, 20 mm needle.
Do not inject more than 15 mℓ per injection site. This will apply to animals heavier than 750 kg.
Sheep:
Inject under the loose skin behind the shoulder, under the foreleg or on the inside of the thigh.
Use an 18 – 21 gauge needle.
Ensure that the needle is inserted carefully and that the product does not leak from the injection site.
In woollen sheep, ensure that the needle has penetrated the actual skin before delivering the dose.
Dosage:
The dose is 0,1 mℓ PRIVEXIA® per 5 kg (1 mℓ per 50 kg) body mass as a single injection (equivalent to 200 µg moxidectin per kg) body mass.
