DOXYVIT 100 SOLUBLE POWDER

INDICATIONS:

DOXYVIT 100 Soluble Powder is recommended for oral administration in the treatment of respiratory, intestinal and systemic infections caused by doxycyline-sensitive organisms in fowls, turkeys and geese. These include: Mycoplasma spp., E. coli, Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Chlamydia spp., Bordetella spp. and Clostridium spp.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Store in a cool dry place between 15 - 25 °C, protected from light.

Close container securely after use.

COMPOSITION:

Doxycycline hydrochloride      100,0 g/kg

WARNINGS:

Withdrawal time for meat: 7 days.

Do not use in laying fowls, turkeys and geese producing eggs for human consumption.

Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

Although this product has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof 

may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and

notify the registration holder.

PRECAUTIONS:

None at the recommended dosage level.

The person administering the product should wear gloves when handling the product and avoid direct contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes.

Wash any splashes of the product from skin or eyes immediately with water.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed

The recommended daily dose of DOXYVIT 100 Soluble powder for fowls, turkeys and geese is 10 mg Doxycycline per kg of body mass administered for three to five days.

To ensure an intake of 10 mg Doxycycline per kg daily, DOXYVIT 100 Soluble Powder may be administered in one of two ways:

(i)   Pulse dose medication

      Preferably DOXYVIT 100 Soluble Powder should be administered via the drinking water in single doses, calculated on the basis of       10 mg Doxycycline per kg live weight. The daily requirement should be administered to the fowls, turkeys and geese in a limited         quantity of water to be consumed within 6 - 8 hours. After the medicated water has been consumed, unmedicated fresh water must       be provided.

(ii)  Continuous medication

      Alternatively, DOXYVIT 100 Soluble Powder may also be administered on a continuous basis at a concentration of 100 ppm (1,0 g       DOXYVIT 100 per litre) in the drinking water, as the only source of drinking water over the entire day.

A fresh solution should be prepared each day.

No other source of drinking water should be available during the medication period.

100 g, 200 g, 500 g, 1 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg and 25 kg.
