WARNINGS
- Do not slaughter fowls for human consumption for at least 6 weeks after vaccination.
- Vaccinate healthy flocks only.
- Intravenous injection should be avoided.
- In healthy fowls no clinical reaction to the vaccination is observed. At the site of injection a slight swelling may develop that disappears in 2 – 3 weeks.
- Ensure that fowls that are marketed do not have swellings at the site of administration, as this will result in condemnations.
- Accidental self-injection may cause a severe local allergic reaction. Consult a physician and inform him/her that the vaccine contains a mineral oil.
- Once a bottle has been opened, its contents must be used up within 24 hours.
- Destroy any unused vaccine by for example burning. Dispose of all the vaccine containers when the vaccination is completed.
- Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.
- Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
PRECAUTIONS
- Do not mix with any other vaccine.
- Observe aseptic precautions. Ensure that vaccination equipment (needles, syringes, etc) are clean and sterile prior to use.
- It is good vaccination practice, when handling vaccine, to avoid contact with the eyes, hands and clothing.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.
Pre-immunization against Newcastle Disease and Infectious Bronchitis with a live virus vaccine is important for optimal protection. Future breeding or laying-type flocks should be immunised with ND and IB live virus vaccines at least 4-5 weeks before vaccination with CEVAC® ND-IB-EDS K at 16-20 weeks of age. CEVAC® ND-IB-EDS K is recommended for use in breeder or layer flocks 3 – 4 weeks before onset of lay. Allow the vaccine to gradually reach room temperature (20 – 25 °C) prior to use. Shake well before use and at regular intervals during use. The dose of the vaccine is 0,5 mℓ, injected intramuscularly (breast muscle) or subcutaneously (neck region).
(Intramuscular administration: the needle should be pointed in the direction of the fowl’s head to prevent the needle from entering the body cavity).
Progeny from eggs of vaccinated breeding stock should have specific maternal antibodies.
PRESENTATION
250 mℓ, 500 mℓ or 1 500 mℓ plastic bottle / 500 or 1000 doses or 3 000 doses.
