FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY
CEVAC® IBD L
Reg No G2830 Act 36/1947
COMPOSITION:
A live vaccine for the immunization of healthy fowls against Infectious Bursal Disease (Gumboro, IBD).
This vaccine contains an Intermediate Plus live, freeze-dried IBD (Gumboro) virus (G-61 strain) of fowl embryo origin. Minimum titre per dose is 102.0 EID50.
STORAGE:
Store in a refrigerator between 2 – 8 °C.
Protect from sunlight.
Improper storage of the vaccine may cause potency losses.
WARNINGS:
Do not slaughter fowls within 21 days after vaccination.
Clinically ill or weak fowls must not be vaccinated.
This vaccine contains a potentially harmful strain of infectious bursal disease, which could cause clinical disease in fowls that have no maternal antibodies.
Destroy any unused vaccine by for example burning; dispose of all the vaccine containers when the vaccination is completed.
Do not administer any other live vaccine within 7 days of the administration of this vaccine.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.
Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
PRECAUTIONS:
Do not mix with any other vaccines.
Mix only the amount of vaccine to be used and administer immediately. Use all at one time and do not stretch the dosage.
Care should be taken that the drinking water used for the administration of the vaccine does not contain any disinfectants and/or chlorine.
It is good vaccination practice not to allow vaccine to come into contact with human eyes or mucous membranes.
Wash and disinfect hands with a disinfectant after vaccination.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed.
For use by drinking water administration only.
For drinking water application in fowls from 7 days onward.
Do not use disinfecting solutions in the drinking water for 48 hours before vaccinations and 24 hours after vaccination. The waterers should be thoroughly cleaned before use. Do not use disinfecting solutions during cleaning. Withhold water supply from fowls for approximately 1 - 2 hours depending on the ambient temperature.
The volume of water must be calculated according to the number of fowls to be immunised. This may vary according to environmental conditions. An indication of mixing ratios is provided.
For each 1 000-dose package, mix the vaccine with clean, cool, non-chlorinated water as follows:
AGE | VOLUME OF MEDICATED WATER/ FOWL |
---|
1 – 2 weeks | 10 – 20 mℓ |
3 – 8 weeks | 20 – 30 mℓ |
8 weeks and older | 40 mℓ |
For stabilization of the vaccine virus, add 2 g/ℓ (0,2 %) skim milk powder to 1 litre of the water which is to be used for mixing the vaccine.
After mixing the vaccine in the water, distribute the vaccine-medicated water equally among the fowls. Provide enough vaccine-medicated water and ensure that it is consumed within 1 – 2 hours. Make sure that all the vaccine-medicated water has been consumed before the normal watering practice is recommenced.
Immunity should develop within 7 – 10 days following the first immunization.
PRESENTATION:
2 500 doses with 30 mℓ diluent for each 1 000 doses.
